Behind the Camera

Marcel Potvin standing at a desk with a laptop in a bright open-plan office, hand raised to his chin in thought.

“Cinema is memory that refuses to stay still.”

Persistent Cinema was founded to make films that feel like the first films did — strange, handmade and luminous. Its director works between surrealism and the silent era, building stories out of images first and words second.

The company makes only its own films — no commissions, no work for hire. Alongside them it keeps a lifelong physical-media collection on the shelves of My Movie Rentals, because every filmmaker is first a viewer.
